Mon Laferte is a a singer, composer and painter. She has compose songs in the genres like pop, rock, cumbia and salsa. She was born on May 2, 1983 in Viña del Mar, Chile. The singer who inspired become who she is today is Juan Gabriel a very knoiwn singer and Edith Piaf. Someone who inspired her in her family is her grandmother. Mon wrote her first song at the age of 13 or 14.
Her father is Francisco Bustamante and her mother is Myriam Laferte Herrera. She has one sister who is named Solange Bustamante and is a Musical artists not very known though. Mon Married her production manger Joel Orta and she has a daugther with him.
Mon is a cancer survivor. she was diagnosed in 2010 with thyroid cancer
At the age of 9 she won a singing contest. Her first studio album was released in 2003 and it had a great sucess in Chile, it recieved Gold and Platinum certifications. She plays the guitar, paino, drums and harmonica. Her songs are also based on her personal life like Pa donde se fue is based on how she needed her father because he wasn't with her sicne he rparents had divorced. the divorced affected ehr so much that she wrote a song dedicated to her father.
